What can higher ed learn from Barack Obama?

Liz and Lynn are currently attending the 2009 CASE District II Conference in Baltimore, MD. Studio-e is a platinum sponsor of the event — we designed the conference identity and program book.

This morning, Liz and Paul Redfern of Gettysburg College successfully presented their session, “What Can Higher Education Learn from Barack Obama?” to a standing-room-only crowd.

The country just experienced what some would call a transformational election. What can higher education learn from the way Barack Obama not only communicated with traditional print and web mediums, but also used social media and web 2.0 tools to carry his message and engage supporters? In an era where budgets are being tightened and organizations are being asked to be more efficient, how can your institution use some of these tools to accomplish your goals and communicate your messages?

Continue the discussion. What might your institution take away from the Obama campaign? How will you integrate and implement your brand?
